Streptomyces sp. nov., Isolations from coastal waters of Caspian Sea for Assessment of Cadmium biosorption

In this study the ability of noval marine actinomycetes to remove Cadmium ion from coastal waters of Caspian Sea by biosorption was investigated. The experiments were carried out by batch method at 72 ◦C and influence of solution pH and initial cadmium ion concentrations were evaluated. Cadmium analysis was performed using flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The maximum adsorption of Cd (II) ion on Streptomyces biomass was observed at pH 2.0.
